WordPress: Spam comments on my blog are down by 90%

Are you receiving tons of spam comments on your blog and spend a lot of time filtering them manually? I have recently installed a plugin that has taken care of the spam comments on my blog for ever. The plugin is called Simple CAPTCHA that adds a image based verification to the comments section of a blog. This has helped me a lot and I highly recommend that you also install this plugin on your blog and spend your productive

Blog Hacked – Paying the price for not upgrading WordPress

I don’t remember which version I installed first when I started this blog back in Nov’06 but I followed the upgrade cycle with every release till 2.1.1. I did not find significant difference in volume of spam comments and that does not make any sense to implement the “nofollow” attribute and deny any link credit to my valuable readers. If you have made comments in this blog

How embedding a video can fail the XHTML validation of your web site?

If you have been happily embedding videos from Youtube and other popular video sharing web sites into your blogs and sites, you should know that it can fail the XHTML validation of your site or the page that is embedded with the video clip. That’s true! I had never thought about it but discovered it accidentally when as a part of my monthly website checkup, I tried to validate my site for XHTML 1.0 Transitional and it failed poorly. SEO Tip for Blogs – Show Popular Posts on Home Page

I wanted to implement this since very long but did not made enough efforts to show the most popular posts on my home page to gain some search engine ranking benefits. Recently, I read a post from Matt Cutt’s blog and gone through his presentation on SEO tips for bloggers and one of the blogs that he referred to for SEO optimization of blogs was that of Stephan Spencer’s blog. A big thanks to Alex King’s Popularity Contest plugin which
