ViVu releases VuRoom: Multi-User Video Collaboration Plug-In for Skype
ViVu recently announced the release of the first ever multi-user video conference plugin for Skype – VuRoom. With the availability of VuRoom for Skype, users will now be able to instantly start multi-user video conference. VuRoom also allows the Skype users to share desktop and presentations with multiple users.

To enable VuRoom’s functionality, the meeting host will have to first download and install the plug-in. Post installation, the host will have to select the (multiple) contacts they want to video conference, right click to see options and select “call a group”. The host then confirms the operation and group conference is started. The best thing about the VuRoom is that other than the host, rest of the call participants need not have the ViVu plug-in installed to participate in the video conference.
Sudha Valluru, CEO of ViVu said, “Real-time communication tools allow businesses to work better, smarter and more efficiently. However, until now, there was no solution to effectively address multi-user video interaction and collaboration. By integrating the core ViVu functionality with a leading global internet communications solution like Skype, we now enable the millions of individuals and small businesses already connected through Skype to engage in a more natural and productive way.”
VuRoom is currently available for both Windows and Macintosh users at a price of $9.95/month. The core ViVu platform is also still available, for a single user license starting at $49.95/month for unlimited online meetings. Existing ViVu customers can download the plug-in at no additional charge. In the future, customers can also expect the plug-in to work seamlessly with new Skype-supported platforms such as web-enabled televisions.
