Panasonic Blu-ray Disc Home Theater System

Panasonic recently launched its first 2.1 channel Blu-ray Disc home theater system, the SC-BTX70 that promises realistic virtual 7.1 channel sound experience.

The SC-BTX70 sports a compact form factor and despite being a 2.1 system, it claims to be able to deliver 7.1 channel sound system through a wide listening area. This home theater from Panasonic uses the advanced proprietary surround technology to deliver Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD virtual 7.1-channel surround sound.

This model also features VIERA CAST that lets you connect the system to Internet and watch Youtube videos, Picasa albums and Amazon Video-on-Demand (VOD) online movie rental service. Not just that, using its BD-Live feature, you can play Internet games too.

From the press release: “The innovative design of the SC-BTX70 integrates a host of digital media options in its ultra slim main unit. Behind the power sliding door in the elegant front panel is a Blu-ray Disc player, a Universal Dock for iPod, an SD memory card slot, and a USB terminal for viewing photos and videos taken with a digital still or video camera. The system will be available in September 2009 with a suggested retail price of $999.95. via press release
