Garmin launches Nuvi 465T portable navigator for truckers

Garmin, one of the most well known manufacturers of portable navigation devices, announced the launch of the first navigation device, Nuvi 465T, designed exclusively for the delivery trucks. It’s a first product of its kind that supports multiple truck profiles and features advanced routing and guidance to support truck related road restrictions. One has to just enter the dimensions of the truck and the device will adjust the route based on the truck’s profile.

Another great feature this product has got is that it provides information about the locations in the NTTS (National Truck and Trailer Services) Breakdown Directory which is a guide to semi-truck repair facilities. Nuvi 465T will offer lifetime subscription-free traffic alerts in most major metros and will notify drivers about any traffic delays in advance.

Let’s now look what the device has got – it features a 4.3″ high-resolution display, pre-loaded with street level maps of the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, offers 3-dimensional mapping perspective and displays speed limits for most major roadways. Nuvi 465T can speak street names so that drivers can receive turn by turn voice prompted instructions. That’s not all, the device also features Bluetooth for hand-free calling and automatic time zone transition feature that will set the device to correct time zone automatically.
