DIY: 1992 Honda Civic delivers 95MPG for under $400 worth modifications

Are fuel costs bothering you? Do you think higher fuel mileage can help you save a lot of money? A Honda Civic modification might inspire you to take up your own modification to achieve higher fuel mileage from your old cars.

Honda Civic Delivers 95MPG

The car might look very ugly, yours could look much better, delivers a highway mileage of 95MPG at a speed of 65mph. That’s 40kms per 1 ltr of fuel, almost 30kms more than what my 2005 Hyundai Accent delivers. The Honda Civic has undergone modifications of $400 worth of material from local hardware store that lowered the coefficient of drag (Cd) from 0.34 to 0.17.

Watch that picture closely, the wheels are covered, there is a boat tail attached to the rear of the car that eliminates the low-pressure eddy that forms behind the cars and slows them down. The front intake vents have also been blocked. The modifications looks simple and tempting me enough to try one or two of them on my car two, perhaps that should be a weekend project.

Check out the Aero Civic website and get some ideas. Who knows, your car might deliver 100MPG and just in case it does, let me know, I will write about it.
