World’s First Universal Charger with Removable Cartridge [Methanol Fuel Cell]
MTI MicroFuel Cells unveiled today the methanol fuel based Mobion charger with removable cartridge that delivers up to 25 hours of power to multiple devices with each cartridge. The light weight fuel charger comes with removable cartridge that can be swapped as and when needed. This makes power available to end users where ever they are and when ever they need it. The Mobion charger includes a USB interface to power a vast majority of devices such as mobile phones, digitial cameras and other electronic devices.
Each cartridge has enough power to charge a cell phone battery for over 10 times, that means it could power a cell phone for approximately one month. The charger has LED lights to show the status of the power in the charger. The chip in the charger is based on 100% methanol fuel and integrates a power module that allows the system to run in a wide environmental range including temperatures from 0C to 40C at any humidity level.
MTI Micro plans to launch a product by end of 2009 in the consumer market to target the mobile phones and other hand-held electronic devices.
