New year resolutions that you can actually follow
The New Year is a good time to make resolutions. Everyone enjoys making new year resolutions but not everyone can follow them. I have made new year resolutions in the past that I could never follow. That’s why I have put together a simple list of resolutions that I think I will actually be able to follow in the coming year. Take a look at what my new year resolutions are and if you like them, add them to your list of resolutions.
Spend time with family – I have not been able to spend quality time with my family this year. This is majorly due to the fact that I am not properly organised. Next year I plan to get more organised and spend more time with family and friends.
Listen and not react – I often end up reacting before even the other person is done with what she/he has to say. Next year I will work on this front and be a good listener and avoid reacting under assumptions.
Stay fit – It’s been very long since I have been doing regular exercise. Next year will see myself doing regular exercises like jogging or at least walking.
Get rid of the junk – The computer desk in my home and the office desk at my office are full of things that I don’t use. Some of these junk stuff includes very old magazines, product brochures, old letters, old software CDs etc. I will start the new year by removing all that junk stuff that I don’t use any longer.
That’s it. Those are some of the resolutions I can think of for now. I want my new year resolutions list to be simple and realistic. What are your new year resolutions?

One Response to “New year resolutions that you can actually follow”
There are a few things that have proven to significantly increase the chances of keeping your (New Year’s) resolutions.
First, make it public. The more friends (or enemies) know you want to quit smoking or get a new job, the better. Peer pressure can be a good thing.
Secondly it helps to have a financial incentive. If you know you will lose a hundred dollars when you light that cigarette, will you still do it?
And then there are no-brainers like the need to be specific and have a definite date in mind.
Since this blog writes about internet it makes sense to mention that myself and a few friends took all of the above and created http://www.pledgehammer.com on our free time. Not only does it help to make and keep resolutions, it also helps charities raise more money via donations. Would be great to get more people to try it out and hear your feedback.
