Can iPhone take on Kindle and other ebook readers?
Today I have come across some posts on iPhone application turning the device into a e-book reader and some articles suggesting a possible take over of the top spot of e-book reading device by iPhone that is currently held by Kindle, an e-book reading device by Amazon. So, are these applications really capable of turning iPhone into a serious e-book reader?
Well, not really! If you look at the underlying platform of iPhone, it has got very small screen, battery life which is very poor. Compare these with Kindle or other ebook readers that runs for days without requiring a recharge. I think that these iPhone applications can not really make any significant impact on the market of Kindle and other e-book readers. The days may not be far away when Kindle could be used in most of the countries and the e-book could be delivered to the device within a minute.
iPhone is just a phone and expecting it to do anything and everything is not good. What’s your say?
