Sharp working on solar energy powered LCD TV

Sharp has recently unveiled a prototype of a LCD TV that’s powered entirely on solar energy. Though the concept of solar energy is nothing new to mankind, using it to power a LCD TV and thus making the TV work in areas that still do not have access to electrical power is something new and worth mentioning.

Not only does Sharp LCD prototype draws much less power than its previous models, it can save upto 75% in power consumption by also utilizing solar energy. Thanks to the concept, all those people in various remote locations on our planet will now be able watch TV, sun light is available everywhere anyway.

Campers rejoice! Another few years and you could carry a solar energy powered LCD TV along when you go for camping. Personally for me, a TV like this one could let me watch cricket matches even when there is no power.
