A power strip can help you save energy at home
I think you have already begin to wonder how exactly a power strip can help you save some energy, haven’t you? That’s exactly what I thought the moment I stumbled upon an article on The Eagle Tribune that talked about a power strip boosting energy savings on everyday electronics at a great length.
After going through the entire article, here’s what I found about the connection between a power strip and energy savings. A vast majority of homes have appliances and electronic items that are not turned off entirely, meaning they are always on standby mode and ready to be turned on by the press of a button on the remote control devices. So, when these consumer electronic devices are in standby mode they do consume some amount of energy to remain in that state and then consume much more energy when switched on.
The author of the article on The Eagle Tribune used a power strip to connect some of his electronic devices and instead of putting them in the standby mode, he simply switched off the power strip thus turning off all the connected devices. This in turn saves energy. Did you get it?
