Akismet is an excellent anti-spam plugin that does a very nice job of identifying the spam comments and take care of them. But I still had to go through the list of comments that were marked as spam manually to de-mark any genuine comment marked as spam by Akismet.
The Captcha plugin does away with automated scripts that posts comments and thus leaves very less number of spam comments coming in. This consumes less time of mine to go through the comments posted.</description>
