Microsoft unveils LiveMesh - synchronize files across all your devices
Did you ever wanted to synchronize all of your latest information such as files, emails and others to be available on all the devices you use? Microsoft’s Live Mesh is the tool that will allow you to accomplish just that.
Install Live Mesh software on all the devices you have, create your mesh, add folders to the Mesh and all the information is automatically synchronized on all the devices. Pick any device from the Mesh and you will always find the latest information on it. That’s pretty neat. Isn’t it?
Your Mesh can be accessed even online, through Live Desktop. It comes with default storage capacity of 5GB and that will suffice the requirement of most business users. People who want to use this space for their songs and movies will find it very less. But hey, that 5GB cap is only on the Live Mesh that’s accessed using the Live Desktop. Otherwise, you can always upgrade your account and buy more space for your Live Desktop.
That’s all about Live Mesh? No! There’s more. A folder in Live Mesh can be shared with a folder from another Live Mesh of your friend or anyone of your choice. Once a folder is shared with others, it’s always synchronized and your friends always see the latest information. Most appealing use of this feature would be to share pictures and media files. Another interesting use will be that you could share a folder containing business documents, inventory information with all your sales people and they always have the latest information. How’s that?
So, what devices are we talking about here? - Well for now, all the devices that run windows operating system. Mac OS and mobile phones running Windows and other operating system will be join the Mesh later.
How to get started with Live Mesh? - Simple! Sign in to Live Mesh using your Live ID and add devices to your Mesh.
