LaCie launches 500GB rugged hard disk

LaCie has taken the storage capacity of its popular rugged hard disk to as much as 500GB. The latest disk drive supports FireWire 800, FireWire 400 & Hi-Speed USB 2.0. The drive is bus-powered, so need for any external power sources. Just plug into the computer and your drive is ready.

LaCie’s hard disk features scratch resistant aluminum shell & shock resistant rubber bumper. Yes, that’s right, its shock resistant hard disk drive that people on the move, with bad history of mis-handling their external drives, would love to buy. The maximum speed this drive supports is up to 800Mbits/s with FireWire 800 connectivity.

The LaCie 500GB hard disk currently available at a price tag of $399.99 and also available in other sizes, i.e. 120GB, 160GB, 200GB, 250GB and 320GB.
