Restoration: A free file undelete utility
Restoration is one of the most simple data restoration tools that I have come across in a long time which not only recovers deleted files from hard disk drives but can undelete data from the memory flash cards of digital cameras also. Unlike many commercial and other file undelete freeware tools, Restoration does not has any complicated recovery wizard to mess up with. It’s a standalone executable and after launching the Restoration executable, you can scan for all the recoverable files and also specify filenames and file extensions to search for.

Restoration can undelete files from FAT and NTFS, and also has an additional feature to erase the files that have been recovered beyond the scope of simple file recovery tools. The free tool works in many situations but sometimes may not be able to recover very large files. Although the interface is pretty straightforward, it still lacks ease of use that leaves it with some room for improvement in its interface.
With its small size of 230KB, it can run from a floppy disk or even a USB thumb drive. The biggest advantage of this free tool is that is can undelete files from flash cards also. Restoration works on 98/ME/2000 and XP.
