Kindle: Amazon’s New Wireless Electronic E-Book Reading Device
Amazon has unveiled its new wireless electronic reader, Kindle. This reader doesn’t need a computer, cable or syncing with your computer. The reader lets you shop for e-books from within the reader itself and there are over 88,000 books available for immediate purchase and download to Kindle. After an e-book is purchased, it takes close to a minute for it to get downloaded to the reader using the built-in wireless feature.
Kindle boasts of an amazingly long battery life. With the wireless turned off, the reader can be used for a week and takes only 2 hours for a full recharge, but with wireless turned on, you may need to recharge it every other day. The reader weighs only 10.3 ounces and I think that’s really good for an electronic reader like this.
Kindle uses EVDO, a high-speed data network, that most advanced cell phones use. There are no monthly wireless bills with Kindle, the connectivity is taken care by Amazon. So, all you gotta do is buy an e-book and download to read it. The Kindle reader comes along with free wireless access to Wikipedia.org. You can even email your Word documents and pictures (.JPG, .GIF, .BMP, .PNG) to Kindle for easy on-the-go viewing. Mind you, the current display is black and white only and a color display will take some time to appear in market.
This is an absolutely must to have device to add to your collection of gadgets.

Another wannabe flop.
Hello Niyaz,
What makes you think it will be a flop? With wireless connectivity is free of charge and you pay only for the e-books that you download. Kindle is sure to make waves when it gains mass acceptance and becomes widely available for everyone to use.
