Wow! Premium AdSense Publishers can Link to Ads in their Newsletters

I am a subscriber of Moneycontrol.com which is one of the leading stock market related website in India. I regularly receive their newsletter by email that shows excerpts of their latest analysis and stock market related news and information. [See the screen shot below]. I had noticed it on various occasions that their newsletter contains a section called ‘RELATED ADS’ that had a list of phrases and I always thought that those were sponsored links from some companies and if I were to click on them, I will end up landing on some other website.

But today, out of curiosity, I hovered my mouse on one of those hyper-linked phrases and to my surprise all the phrases were links to a page on Moneycontrol’s website which shows only AdSense ad units. Yes, that’s correct - No content on the landing page, just full of Ads. It’s more like the standard Link Units that’s available to all AdSense Publishers but in this case customized and styled. [Screen shot is below]. The hyperlink itself contains the phrases that tells the page what ads it has to show up. Here is an example URL to the online version of their newsletter. Notice the related ads section on that page.
