RSS Bandit: A powerful RSS/Atom aggregator for your desktop
I know most of us use various tools, both online and offline, to stay upto date with the feeds we have subscribed to. As the number of RSS feeds that you subscribe to increases, it becomes difficult to manage them. Of course, there was ways to organize your feeds by placing them in different categories but with increasing number of RSS feeds, since almost every site offers free RSS feed, that too becomes painful over time.
RSS Bandit offers easy to understand and manageable interface. It has three panes, which is common with most RSS readers, the pane on left displays a list of all the feeds you subscribe to, on the right you see headlines on the top and at the bottom right you see short summaries with hyperlinks.

The features that I liked most about RSS Bandit are:
- Support for international languages
- Define server(s) and subscribe to newsgroups which gives you ability to read the items in threads, post new entries and reply to existing ones
- View and Post Comments to News Items in an RSS feed
- Customizable Rendering of Feed Items with XSLT
- It can autodiscover webfeeds - Just point it to a URL and it will show all the RSS feeds that URL has to offer.
- Ability to flag items for follow up [flagged items show up in a special folder]
- Comments Posted to blogs from RSS Bandit show up in “Sent Items” Special Folder
- RSS Item Search - You can search within all the subscribed feeds for your search keywords
Give RSS Bandit a try, I am sure you will love it. Best of all, it’s FREE!!

Well, I used to think the same way about RSS Bandit, but recently, I have moved on from RSS bandit. And so should everyone else. It’s nice and all that, but there are way too many annoyances. I talk about 3 of them at my blog: http://blog.gadodia.net/index.php/archives/3-reasons-for-why-rssbandit-is-not-worth-it/
