Search Engine Traffic has Better Ad CTR than Digg Traffic

Yes! You read it right. Traffic from search engines, specially Google, yields to higher CTR (Click Through Ratio) when compared to traffic from Digg. This difference is as much as 3 times, which means that the visitors are 3 times more likely to click on your ads if they come from Google when compared to the same amount of visitor traffic from Digg!

I wouldn’t have really believed that if it was not backed up by some real data analysis that takes into consideration a significant amount of data resulting in a decisive output. I am referring to this post from Chitika Blog Bash that has come up with this finding based on an analysis done on a billion+ ads served over a period of 31 days.

Now that’s what I really like about having a lot of data in your hands that you can use in variety of ways, similar to what folks at Chitika have done. Don’t we now know which traffic should we emphasize more on for better CTR? ;)
