Google AdWords Landing Page and Site Quality Guidelines
Google has made some changes to the way its AdWords program works on a website. This does not directly affect publishers who are using AdSense program to display Google Ads but greatly affects those who use AdWords for their advertising.
Google will, going forward, check the quality of the landing page to determine what Ads will appear on your site. If an advertiser score lower on quality score, he will have to pay more to appear on your website.
What are these changes?
- The back link (landing page) from your Ad should land on a page that provides accurate and useful information about the product you advertised
- In as few steps as possible, provide information to the visitors who clicked on your Ads
- If you advertised a free product, then avoid complicated registration process, surveys etc., for users to avail those free products
- Your content must be Unique (not a copy or similar content from competitor or another website)
- Deliver what you promised in your Ads. If product is free, it should be offered free.
- Very clear privacy statements. If you are collecting personal information, inform in clear terms about what you plan to do with that information
What are the significant outcomes of this change?
- Higher Conversion Rate. When user click on your Ads on any website, it’s more likely they will buy your products.
- Positive User Experience by means of site quality guidelines
How does it affect AdSense Publishers?
- Fewer Ads on your websites
- May lead to more revenue for a publisher if advertiser’s quality score is less

Can anyone give me ideas…
I have been using adwords to promote my online business websites. I almost never see any results. I think the most amount of traffic i have recieved from adwords is 5 unique visitors in a whole month. Is there anyother good ppc options besides google where i will get better exposure of my website.

Michael,
Few things you should keep in mind with AdWords.
1. Do not use negative words when selecting your keywords. For example, SEO for all websites [for all websites may be considered as negative keywords].
2. Navigate to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and type your keywords and select ‘Keywords Only’, ‘Keywords Popularity’ and ‘Negative Keywords’. Make a note of the results. You may then arrive at the best keywords for your website and marketing strategy.
I hope this helps. If you need further help, write to me [email address in contact page, top right]
Thanks!
